[mood | grumpy]
[music |Misery Signals allllllll day.]

I just haven't felt the same for months. Ever since the night i went to see Craig Armstrong, and came down with that chest infection (that months later turned out to be pheumonia) i've felt totally shit. I'm patient, but i'm starting to get pissed off. But i know i'll get better, Positivity is the way.
Recently i've constantly been swinging from feeling absolutley great and cheerful...to feeling half-dead and grumpy. I think that hs something to do with winter.

Over the last few weeks i've mainly been either recording songs, playing gigs or taking photos. I recorded the Violent Response / Offside split demo, that was a good laugh. Played an amazing gig in Perth too, Gav came all the way through for it, i actually think he's the biggest legend to ever grace the earth, he's how most people should be.

I had this dream the other night...everyone from my year at High School had to back for yet another year, and everything was how it was, the school looked like it did before they changed it, all the people i was friends with were there, everything was exactly how i remembered it...better than i can remember when i'm awake. When i woke up, i felt so sad about it, most of these people have changed or moved away, i actually completley miss being 16.

Today i've felt shit and haven't wanted to speak to anyone at all, so i looked through some oldish photos. These are the ones that made me happy:

From our summer camping trip;

[music |Envy - Chain Wandering Deeply]

The last 3 or so weeks have been so tragic i'm not prepared to write much about it.

but it's been fun recently, except dying from way too much college work.

Basically i've been doing nothing fannying about in the sunny weather.
Saturday we had our T in the park heats again at the liquid rooms, that went really well to be honest. Obviously we stuck out like a sore thumb (or ears in this case). We were on last so we got all the drunken heckling, but matt responded well with comments like; "awww naww, guys....i think we're gonna have to go off now, that guy over their said we're shite..." or "awww, just go and fuck off, you cunt....anyway..."

review:

Allergo went out to confirm their place as the transformers of metal; hardcore in disguise. They come on like such nice boys; short hair, no piercings and that soft, slightly camp, Perthshire accent; they might as well have worn chinos and played a Travis cover. Little did I know at this point that Allergo were to steal my breath away as quickly as I’d regained it, lulling me into a state of soft rock security when anything else would have been closer to the truth. Heralding from the same intelligent hardcore metal/punk (bit confused with my genres here, better cover my bases...) background as lightning bolt and melt banana, the last band on the bill were perhaps not the most popular, I doubt they ever intended to be, but their crisp and immaculately performed signature changes were quick to impress. Lyrically I’m not sure what exactly was being said, only that it wasn't about loving Jesus (though I think that might have been something about Trisha Goddard), and that it didn't really matter, Matt Evans taking to his role like the lovechild of Mick Jagger and a tyrannosaurus rex. Intricate, enthralling and occasionally enjoyable, Allergo were out of their element but certainly not their depth, the kind of band that makes you want to crack into a nice bottle of liebfraumilch.

neat.

Sunday; me, matt, ewan, gary and alex played some footy and such down on the inch. There was a group 14yr old girls sitting near us, so we obliged to take half our clothes off like some bunch of poncy neds. I think they left.
We then went to the Tescos car park for about 5 hours playing bare footed football with the car door open, blaring out the likes of AWK and Champion. The grannies were disgusted. We had an audience when we started pacing about to Promises Kept tho, but i had to leave because my feet were one big blister.

[music |Bane - Speechless]

Do you know what's shit? everyone i've been trying to add on this damn thing isn't realizing that i'm trying to add them, so i have like 3 friends....and all my other friends insist on reading it but won't join because they "can't be assed", except Ewan, but i think he's forgotten about it. Hopefully i can generate more friends.
What's also shit is that i still don't know how to fucking make pictures appear on the comment's page rather than the home page. And i'm as sick as a dog now too, tonsilitis and all....must be a comedown from a hefty decent week.

Sunday we played our 2nd DLDFC 8-a-side up at McDermind. Matt decided to join the team, just as well he did, be fired one into the back of the net. We lost 5-2 though. I think it was because i was laughing for most of it, i couldn't take our team seriously...Matt was wearing his school trousers and a normal purple t-shirt, I was wearing 3/4 lengths and a Comeback Kid zippy with a ridiculous red headband, and Motion was wearing a Dundee United strip...the rest were in their usual full kit. We were a mess...

On Monday; Me and Gary last minute decided to go through to Glasgow to see Mesa Verdi, Azriel and A Day in Black and White. The gig was fan-dabby-dozey, the bands where immense, but the rest of the night was pretty hellish. On the train through Gary decided to bring a bottle of cider each, so we decided to neck them before the train journey ended, sadly we couldn't, so we finnished them in a carpark outside the 13th note...on a monday night! what were we thinking...
Ended up getting pretty slaughtered, then went in to watch the bands and drank more cheap beer and had shots of jagermeieyrjrhgr. I think i went for a walk alone to clear my head, but i can't remember. i do remember walking with some pakistani guy who was begging me for fags which i obviously didn't own. whether that was a dream or not, i'm not sure! Gav gave me a free Azriel tee shirt for taking photos, which was beyond kind. and i think before i left i was demonstrating to Dom that i could punch myself in the face and not feel it because i was so wrecked, not sure.
Somehow got back to the train station on time and slept the whole journey, face-down on the table "listening" to my ipod. Woke up in a pool of saliva and hopesfall blaring in my ear, but basically wanted to die there and then. rough.
Obviously did nothing on Tuesday except watch Price Drop tv and eat pizza.

Wednesday i missed my train to glasgow, which was gay.

Thursday was the last Toy Destroyer gig at Westport (dundee). which was immense fun. Jon gave us a lift through in his dad's plush VW estate. He broke about 10 driving laws on the way and i though i was gonna die before i got there. The funniest thing being when he tried to park in a no drive zone, then panicked when we said the police where watching, then he floored it over a cerb and about 100m down a one-way road and through a red light.
The gig was great fun. I got to DJ with my ipod before and between the bands. All i did was piss off the typical "MySpace" cunts pondering about taking photo's of themselves. I'd put Underoath on, they'd get well excited and go on a photo taking frenzy, but i'd suddenly blast Blood has Been Shed at them at double the volume! hahahaha....but the drive home was the best when we stopped at one of those BP's where you have to ask what you want at the window, and they get it for you. Basically making them go back and forward untill the guy started cursing at the product he was retrieving. We drove round town for awhile when we got back and Motion was starting on neds from the car window and then Jon would gun it down the road, but we'd keep passing and abusing them until they got to the stage of frustration of starting to throw things and the car. It was genius.

My first proper journal entry...
what can i say...

This last week has been exceptionally good; Monday i went through to glasgow to take promo pics for azriel. I got on a good train ride listening to explosions in the sky all the way through, although the only sights we're grey skies. When i eventually got there, i did the usual, got a burger king even though i wasn't hungry and headed straight to virgin to find an, at least decent cd, which is impossible to find in Perth. I then visited my sister's flat and took advantage of more food. I took a donder but got lost in the outskirts of the centre. I eventually met azriel and went to their practice rooms, it was a good laugh and their set was sounding ace.
Tuesday i had band practice...then played 7-a-side at McDermid. Me and Motion were the rock-solid defence in our Youth of Today and Converge tee's, unlike the rest in their full kit!
Wednesday i gave my guitar lessons.
Friday i went to see Mesa Verdi, Avast, Kaddish and the Mock Heroic at The Balcony Bar, which was beyond amazing. After; Matt, Motion and I "ran-a-muck" in the train staion for an hour. Sliding down the stairs, climbing up the telephone boxes, "who can throw up the quickest" (which i won), jumping into stalls etc, i don't understand why none of the steward people didn't hear or stop us. On the Train back we did nothing but pretend we were being sick infront of people with fanta, which was beyond hilarious at the time.
Saturday i went into town with Potter for a bit of talent watching, then went to the park for a game of 3-a-side, which was exhausting, so now i'm wasting away writing this. Fun.
